This captivating city is famous is the home of Juliet, the Opera and a wealth of fascinating history and architecture. It is a truly magnificent place to visit all year round. At its heart is the ancient arena, where some of Italy’s finest opera seduces the senses every year between June and September. Shakespeare chose to set his romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, in this beautiful city and it is definitely a place to fall in love.

Florence is the capital of the stunning Italian region of Tuscany and the heart of the Renaissance; one of Europe’s great art cities.
The architecture, sculptures and references to renowned artists will astound the visitor to this city of splendour. No visit to Florence would be complete without admiring Michelangelo’s statue of David housed within the Accademia Gallery. The Pontevecchio Bridge, a famous landmark of Florence is a symbol of the city’s endurance over natural and man made disasters. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s top art museums and houses some of the most important works by artists of the Renaissance period: Leonardo de Vinci, Giotto, Botticelli and Michelangelo. You will also find many fascinating Greek and Roman sculptures in the Uffizi. Named in honour of Santa Maria del Fiore is the magnificent Duomo (Cathedral): the grand immense dome designed by Brunelleschi is visible for miles.

Ancient icons such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Pantheon take us back to the day when the city was the hub of the Roman Empire. St Peters Basilica is the greatest of Rome’s monuments, an absolute masterpiece of Renaissance Architecture and The Sistine Chapel, a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, official residence of the Pope is one of the greatest art treasures of all time, renowned for its incredible ceiling painted by Michelangelo. The Emilia Romagna region is a covers a large area of the north of Italy.
Daily scheduled flights to Bologna, Parma & Rimini from many UK airports, make it a very easy region to reach. The area is famous for many things including the long stretches of sandy beach on the Adriatic coast.
Bologna, the site of Europe’s first university, is best known as the gastronomic capital of Italy. It is regarded as one of the country’s most beautiful cities with a maze like network of porticoed, medieval streets.

Verona Opera: Between mid-June and early September, the city of Verona welcomes thousands of opera lovers from around the word to witness the most magical and powerful performances. Every year different performances take place in the Arena di Verona – Verdi’s Aida is always in the programme – satisfying the senses of opera-lovers. The Verona Opera is an event not to be missed.

Spend 3 nights at the sensational 5* Palazzo Manfredi Hotel which actually overlooks the Colosseum. Centrally located so you can visit the many wonders of this eternal city. But this visit will be unique as your trip will include a very special tour to the Vatican : The Vatican Necropolis,or Scavi, is located directly beneath the immense St Peter’s Basilica and includes everything from the Papal Tombs to Roman cities of the dead including the tomb of St Peter. You will be put into a group of maximum 12 people with an English speaking guide; your tour will last 1.5 hours. In order to preserve this exceptional historical and archeological site and especially the revered tomb of St Peter, only 150 visitors per day are allowed on the tour. Tickets are therefore in short supply and need to be booked in advance. We do not recommend this tour if you suffer from claustrophobia.
